Overcoming Unbelief

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Introduction: How Do We Overcome Unbelief?Hello everyone — this is Martins, and I welcome you once again to The Osawe Ministries. Today, we’re concluding our teaching series titled “Faith Over Unbelief.” We’ve learned what faith is, where unbelief comes from, and the dangerous consequences it produces. Now, let’s talk about the most important part: How do we overcome unbelief?
The solution to unbelief is not trying harder — it’s believing deeper.
Unbelief is not simply doubt — it’s the absence of faith. And the only remedy is to build your faith until unbelief has no room to stay. Faith in Action: Jesus Raises Jairus’ Daughter (Mark 5:35–42)When Jesus was told that Jairus’ daughter had died, He paid no attention the report and said,
Don’t be afraid; only believe.
The crowd laughed when He said, “The child is not dead but sleeping.” But Jesus operated in complete faith. He removed the unbelieving crowd, took the girl by the hand, and said,
Talitha koum” — “Little girl, I tell you, get up.
Immediately, she stood and began to walk.Faith speaks life where others see death. Faith acts on God’s Word even when circumstances seem final.

How to Overcome Unbelief and Walk in FaithHere are six powerful ways to strengthen your faith and overcome unbelief. 1. Fill Your Heart with God’s Word“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” — Romans 10:17 Faith grows when you expose yourself to God’s truth daily. Feed your heart with sermons, scripture, and worship instead of the world’s noise. Practical Tips: Study the Bible diligently, not casually.Meditate on the Word, not just before bed, but as a priority.Join small Bible study or discipleship groups where you can learn and ask questions. “The more you fill your life with God’s Word, the less space unbelief has to live.”

2. Speak Words of Faith — Not Doubt When Jesus said, “She is not dead but sleeping,” He wasn’t denying reality — He was declaring truth from a higher realm. Our words carry creative power. When you say, “I’m healed in Jesus name,” you are not ignoring symptoms — you’re aligning your speech with Scripture.
Speak faith into your situation until your reality aligns with God’s promises.
3. Refuse to Entertain Unbelief When people laughed at Jesus, He put them out of the room.Sometimes, you must do the same. Surround yourself with voices that build your faith, not drain it. Avoid environments, conversations, and content that speak fear, defeat, or doubt.
You can’t overcome unbelief if you constantly feed it.
4. You can’t overcome unbelief if you constantly feed it.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
The world says, “Seeing is believing.” But the Kingdom says, “Believe, and you will see.” Renewing your mind happens as you study Scripture and let the Holy Spirit reshape your thoughts. Don’t let the world define who you are — let the Word define you.
The Word of God is the mirror that shows you who you truly are in Christ.
5. Dedicate Your Life to God’s Service When you serve God, you align your actions with your faith. You build His kingdom through obedience, generosity, love, and consistency.
Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Even your work, your speech, and your relationships can glorify God. Make your daily life an act of worship. 6. Walk by Faith, Not by Sight "For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7In today’s world, it’s easy to believe only what you see. But the unseen spiritual realm is more real than the visible.
It is by faith that we understand that the universe was created by God's word, so that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen.
Faith is choosing God’s Word over physical evidence. Faith is believing that His promise is true even when circumstances disagree. When you choose to walk by faith, you unlock the supernatural — because faith connects you directly to the heart of God. A Living Illustration: The Overflowing GlassImagine your heart as a glass full of floating balls labeled fear, doubt, anger, and unbelief. Now imagine pouring clean water — God’s Word — into that glass. As the water rises, those light balls begin to overflow and fall out. That’s what happens when you fill yourself with Scripture. The Word of God flushes out unbelief until your heart overflows with faith.

Conclusion: Faith Over Unbelief — The Final StepUnbelief grows in darkness, but faith grows in the light of God’s Word. The more you fill your heart with truth, the less power unbelief holds over you. Both faith and unbelief are products of what you feed on. Feed your spirit with the Word — and watch faith flourish.
The solution to unbelief is not trying harder — it’s believing deeper.
